Short Stay Parking at Stansted

Stansted's Short Stay car park is directly opposite the single passenger terminal, around a 2–3 minute covered walk to check-in. There's no shuttle and no inter-terminal transfer to worry about — you park and walk straight in, which makes it the most convenient option for drop-offs, pick-ups and overnight stays.

The Express Set-Down zone right outside the terminal charges around £7 for 15 minutes, and more if you linger. If you'd rather not pay that, use the free drop-off at the Mid Stay car park, which has a free shuttle to the terminal. For anything beyond a quick goodbye, the Short Stay car park lets you park, walk in and only pay for the time you need.

Yes. Because Short Stay sits opposite the terminal, it's ideal for meeting arrivals — you can wait in the car park rather than circling the roads, and walk across to arrivals in a couple of minutes. Many operators track flight times, so a delayed Ryanair or easyJet arrival won't leave you out of pocket.

Short Stay is charged per hour or per day and is the priciest per-day option because of its prime spot opposite the terminal. That's fine for a quick turnaround or a single overnight stay, but for a week's holiday the free-shuttle Long Stay car park or off-airport Park & Ride works out far cheaper — our tool shows both side by side.

If you're catching one of Stansted's very early 04:00–06:00 departures, Short Stay is the easiest choice — you arrive, park opposite the terminal (sat-nav CM24 1QW, just off Junction 8 of the M11) and are at the gate within minutes, with no shuttle to wait for.
